After having first received the Sacrament of Baptism, Christian Initiation continues with the receiving of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation (“Penance”/”Confession”) and First Eucharist (“Communion”).  Upon reaching the age of reason (about 7 years old), children are given appropriate catechesis in preparation to receive these sacraments.  These classes are traditionally held during the second grade, and in accord with the policies of the Archdiocese of Seattle, are to be parish-based and directed by pastoral staff.  Whether your child is enrolled in the second grade at St. Mark Parish School, another Catholic or non-Catholic school, or home-schooled, you will need to register your child with the Office of Faith Formation in order for your child to be able to receive these sacraments.

Parents are required to attend supplemental mandatory parent meetings prior to the celebration of each of these sacraments. The first parent meeting will be held on TBA in the 2nd Grade Classroom. Please download the Class Registration form (found to the right of this page) and return to Laurie McCloskey.

Please contact Laurie McCloskey at the Parish Office for further information:  206-364-7900 or [email protected].
